What makes Gracie, Gracie

Gracie is sweet, sensitive, expressive, and full of joy. She notices the people around her, loves sharing a smile, and has a laugh her family never tires of hearing.

Music, cuddles, Sesame Street, and Ms. Rachel are some of her favorite things. She loves church and time with friends and family, bringing her sense of humor to the moments they share.

She brings determination to therapy and to learning with her Tobii communication device. Gracie communicates differently, but she has so much to say.

Gracie is sweet, sensitive, funny, and full of joy. She notices the people around her, loves sharing a smile, and has a laugh her family never tires of hearing. Music, cuddles, and time with friends and family are some of her favorite things.

Born seven weeks early, Gracie developed bacterial meningitis and experienced a brain injury that resulted in quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Her diagnosis helps explain the support she needs, but it does not define who she is.

Gracie brings determination to therapy and to learning with her Tobii communication device. She communicates differently, but she has so much to say. She loves church, Sesame Street, Ms. Rachel, and opportunities to play, connect, and laugh with the people she loves.

Our $5,000 Flourishing Focus goal will help provide a supportive Special Tomato chair, new AFO leg braces, supportive shoes that work with her AFOs, and new glasses. These everyday tools can support her comfort, movement, learning, communication, and participation at home and in her community.

For Gracie's family, flourishing means having the support, opportunities, and freedom to be fully and authentically herself: building relationships, discovering what she loves, and knowing she belongs.

Know a local special-needs child or family who could use support? Families may nominate themselves, and friends or community members may nominate a family. All nominations are reviewed before a monthly recipient is selected.
